A book about Real Life, Real Money, and Real Business.
A book to make you think differently, and laugh. A lot! A book with a Career
Development Strategy, and Sangria Recipes, because sometimes, they really should go together.
Things change. Shocking, I know. The internet, recession, smartphones and
global economy have changed our world faster in the last 10 years than ever before in history, and the majority of people are slow to change with it… which creates HUGE problems.
One in particular is the myth that’s been perpetuated by
Colleges/Universities (a mammoth, CAPATILIST BUSINESS, which they would like you to kindly overlook) that a college degree equates to a more successful career, a better life. That may have been true 20 and 30 years ago, but now things have changed. College tuition has risen 1000% in these same 30 years, while unemployed and under-employed college grads (now a commodity) struggle to find jobs and health care benefits. Adding insult to injury, the College-Degree-Myth is often pedaled mostly to minorities and women, who usually take out Student Loans to go to school… leaving them $60K, $70K, up to $100K in debt. Student Loan Debt in our country surpasses Home Mortgage Debt, and those interest rates are BIG BUSINESS! Additionally, Colleges/Universities cannot keep up with the
speed at which the internet changes things on a global scale. Business and money is online and global, and the techniques can change and develop within months, then change again. The curriculums can’t keep up, leaving most grads completely unprepared and inexperienced. They aren’t teaching Corporate in College, and job security just doesn’t exist anymore because you have a paper degree and a smile!
Solution?? To begin with, a mindset shift about HOW people can learn
knowledge and skills, which can now be done online and in the real world. There is NOTHING you can’t learn on the internet. It’s not all free, but it IS all available, and cheaper than tuition, books, dorm fees, and beer money ("living expenses"). People can and should put their passions and true interests to work, creating a more soulful, less stressful, more successful career and life… much more so than by racking up Student Loan Debt and praying to join cubicle-nation at the bottom, to claw their way up to middle- management, finally paying off their own debts just in time to pay their kid’s college tuition. And repeat cycle. The myth continues, and I’m here telling you, there’s a better way!

Andy Rooney died a couple of weeks ago. Here are some Rooneyisms I hope you enjoy:
I've learned .... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned .... That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned .... That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.
I've learned .... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned .... That being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned .... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I've learned .... That I can lways pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned .... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
I've learned .... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
I've learned .... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned .... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I've learned .... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
I've learned .... That money doesn't buy class
I've learned .... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned .... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned .... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned .....That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned .... That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned .... That the easiest way for me to growas a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned .... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned .... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned ... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned .... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned .... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock
I've learned .... That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.
I've learned .... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned .....That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned .....That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned .... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned .... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

Guess what today is?? Launch day with this website! Whoop. Lots of hard work and immense love went into this whole project, and I couldn't be more excited to see it all come together. It's been a long time coming, and what I've learned specifically is that sometimes you have to give up your own excuses. Sometimes you have to give up some relationships and the things that hold you back. Sometimes you can't afford NOT to change - for your own sanity, health, and financial future...
And with that final thought, I'd like to welcome the world to my new website. Feel the love, spread the love, and always remember to Laugh More!
Today at the park I climbed on top of a jungle gym with my son, and everything looked so different. It was only about 15 feet difference in height, and yet an entire perspective shift. I was eye-level with the lush green treetop canopies, some just starting to turn their fall colors, which I couldn't see from the ground. I felt like a kid again. As I talked to my son about all of this, he asked what was so special about it... I told him I hadn't climbed on top of a jungle gym in a long time. "About 70 years??" Ummmmm, no. But about 20...!
I felt incredibly creative, and realized it was the perspective shift that was stimulating and allowing my brain to start firing in all different ways... The human brain craves this synapses stimulation, and the soul responds. It's simple, yet amazing. At that moment I started thinking of all of you, what I wanted to write to you on the blog... Then I took a breath. I stopped. I watched a hummingbird. I kissed the top of my son's head. I decided the blog would come to me later, and I conciously became very present in the moment. It was a gift, and I was going to enjoy every minute of it... which wasn't long... soon we were off chasing each other in "Sand Shark Tag." (Why am I always it?!?! Haha...)
Aughhhhh! I have been stupid crazy planning and marketing a launch for a killer Hip-Hop Artist and I'm so excited to be on the project... it's seriously ground-breaking, and his music is already being compared to the discovery of Lady Gaga.
So that's where I've been, my friends. Up to my neck in his promo material, graphic designs, videos, photos, and Press Releases. We've got a ton of Media Events booked for him, and I'm thinkin' within a week or so I'll be back on MY OWN videos, blog posts, tweets, and Book Reviews soon.
XOXO! Blue Skies, my friends... Bl
YIKES! The Huffington Post Business had a terribly interesting... wait, no. I meant JUST terrible, article about how unemployment is actually worse than reported because so many UNDER-employed (under-valued, under-appreciated, under-paid) people are also competing in the current (SHRINKING!) job market...
You know what that means! Time to create YOUR OWN CAREER, YO, AND MAKE A LIVING ON YOUR OWN TERMS. You were meant to live inspired and creative, for reals. Whoever thought to put humans in cubicles and customer service call centers, well, they were pretty much Satan. Learn how to create totally cool things, and be inspired way beyond that shitty paycheck/unemployment check you're collecting.
It's not easy, but it'll be worth it past your wildest dreams. It's a good life. Come join me. Whatever you're thinking right now, it's too small. Think more amazing. Think of the Wright Brothers who thought man could maybe fly in the air.
Tell me what you've got for this world, and I'll tell you mine! Leave a comment below and of course, share the love with others! XOXO
Here's the whole article if you really want to be sad:

I'll rock that mic, hells yeah I will! Contact me and let's set something up. Fun!
Clarity is one of the most powerful of all forces for the human brain. Be 100% clear on exactly what you want to create, by when, and what specifically you need to do to accomplish that.
What is YOUR vision?? Declare it here and now... There's so much power in putting it out there in the world!
Here I am... Blogging for my new website, ready to promote my 1st book. Am very happy with the way it turned out. Tons o' good feedback so far. Good for the ego. Makes it easier to take those steps forward. I'm emailing Chelsea Handler, or her peeps, about the book cover tomorrow.
